DTF Digital Transfers

What are Digital Transfers and How Do They Work?

Digital transfers utilize a solvent ink printer and a heat press to apply designs onto garments and other items. The process begins with feeding a special substrate through the printer, where your design—often created using software like Adobe Illustrator—includes a contour cut line. This cut line allows the printer's software to recognize the shape of the design. Once printed, the excess material is carefully removed (a process known as "weeding"), and the design is transferred to the garment using heat and pressure from a heat press.

Why Choose Digital Transfers? Also known as DTF

Digital transfer is a versatile technique commonly used to customize garments, bags, hats, and more. It works particularly well for dimensional designs applied to items like long sleeve tops, team uniforms with names and numbers, vibrant cap logos, tote bags, and polyester materials. This method is ideal for creating unique, eye-catching designs with numerous colors. Digital transfer technology and quality has exploded since 2019 and has become the fastest growing method of apparel decoration.
